Robert Brierley B.Eng

Mr Brierley is a mining engineer, graduate of The Australian Institute of Company Directors and founding Director of VCL. Mr Brierley has wide experience in finance, project management and mining and valuation techniques and has been involved in the design, operation and management of several major mining projects in Australia across many commodity groups including coal, gold, nickel, copper, bauxite and iron ore.

Clive Jones B.(App)Sc

Mr Jones is a geologist and founding Director of VCL with over 25 years of mineral exploration and corporate/project financing experience for a wide range of mineral commodities.

Jeffrey Moore B.(App)Sc

Mr Moore is a geologist and founding Director of VCL. Mr Moore has skills in exploration and mining project generation, finance and management for commodities including precious metals, copper, base metals, diamonds and industrial minerals throughout Australasia, South America, Africa and PNG.

Graeme Wallis

Mr Wallis is a businessman who has gained more than 35 years of experience and knowledge in the mining, exploration and water extraction industry as owner/managing director of Australasia’s largest privately owned drilling company.


Grant Douglas B.Sc(Hons), PhD

Senior Principal Research Scientist
CSIRO Land and Water

Dr Grant Douglas is a Senior Principal Research Scientist at CSIRO specialising in aquatic and sediment geochemistry for environmental management and remediation. He has been engaged to provide technical consulting services to Virtual Curtain Limited in its commercialization of the Virtual Curtain technology.

After graduating with a B.Sc (Hons) in Geochemistry from La Trobe University in 1985, Dr Douglas worked as a geochemist/geologist for multi-national companies including CRA and PNC Exploration (Aust) Pty Ltd, with key focus on exploration for uranium, rare earth and precious metals deposits. After completing his Doctorate at Monash University In 1993, Dr Douglas joined CSIRO Division of Exploration Geoscience in Western Australia, working principally in the field of environmental remediation specialising in metals, acidity and nutrients.

Dr Douglas has published and presented outcomes of his research extensively in international forums and has achieved significant commercial success with the transfer of patented technologies into the public domain:

  • He has developed, patented and is providing technical assistance to Virtual Curtain Limited in the commercialisation of acid wastes/wastewaters remediation technology. The technology provides neutralisation and broad spectrum removal of contaminants from geochemically-complex acid waters with a range of applications although particularly relevant to mining and minerals processing wastes, and;
  • Developed, patented and commercialised Phoslock™, a P-adsorbent clay-based product for environmental applications including removing phosphorus from the water column and managing algal blooms in water bodies. Phoslock ™ Water Solutions is an ASX_listed company with markets established in more than 20 countries throughout the world.
